	A good habit to develop is to stay calm. If another driver's mistake or driving has upset you try not to react, think of the safety of your passengers and other road users.
	Make sure that your handbrake is applied at any time the car is parked, even outside your home and in the driveway.
	Keep your distance. Remember "only a fool breaks the two seconds rule". In bad weather remember to keep twice the distance, and in icy road conditions or in snow, remember that the stopping distance is times ten the normal stopping time.
	Take plenty of time to plan your trip, this will save you confusion, time and fuel.
	Adjust your seat belt so that it is properly placed; lap belt should be placed on the hips as much as one can, top part of the belt should be placed over the chest and shoulder.
	Always make sure that you are comfortable and wearing clothes and shoes you feel happy to drive in. This will help you relax and make the drive and journey much more pleasant.
	Get into the lane you need in good time especially when driving on the motorway.
	Ask yourself before overtaking if it's necessary. Make sure not to overtake if you are about to turn off shortly afterwards.
	Always check your mirrors before changing speed (gears), a good driver always knows what is happening behind and around them.
